Tiacea

The seapass city, renowned for its ship building.
Ruled by the House of Orfide, and home of the Glecean Navy.

House Orfide believes strongly in upholding the law of Glecea above all else, followed closely by spreading the word of Elya.
They are close allies with House Flaigre because Abigail Flaigre was Abigail Orfide before she married Silas.
They value family, but will put the law above familial ties if it comes down to a choice.
As a staunch supporter of House Flaigre, House Orfide has put a lot of effort into befriending House Litarum, in the hopes of making them a stronger ally to the crown.
Duke Bonei Litarum is currently working with Rogali Orfide (sister to Abigail Flaigre) to arrange a match between Fiverun Litarum and Liaso Orfide, Rogali’s youngest daughter.
House Orfide tries very hard not to get on anyone’s bad side and maintains at worst neutral relations with all of the noble houses.
Their views are non-objectional to most Glecean citizens, which helps them stay on everyone’s good side.

Latia

Renowned for its knowledge of magic.
Ruled by the House of Sagicae.

House Sagicae is for the most part happy as long as they can worship Elya and advance in the field of magic.
House Flaigre upholds the constitution of Glecea and doesn’t get in their way, so they are happy with Flaigre rule, but if that should change, their alliances might shift.
Attenia went to stay with them for several months to further her studies in healing magic and formed a bond with Duke Aginus Sagicae, who became almost like a second father to her during her time there when she was missing home.
House Litarum and House Sagicae have been feuding for generations and no one even really remembers why anymore.
The Flaigre family is working on trying to reconcile them, but without much success, as they don’t have a lot in common.
They are allied with House Temenia through marriage – Duke Aginus Sagicae is the brother of Frisidi Temenia, who married out of the family for the alliance between the two houses.

Benelas

Renowned for its magnificent architecture.
Ruled by the House of Elcrelu.

House Elcrelu has long argued that Gleacea is better off on its own, as Elya’s chosen people.
It sees refugees as disruptions and other kingdoms as threats.
Elcrelu wants only safety and security for all Gleceans and thinks the best way to uphold the constitution is to close the borders.
Most are tolerant of other races, but there are a rare few who believe in human supremacy.
House Elcrelu is opposed to House Flaigre on principle, as House Flaigre opposes their ideology.
They are allied with House Sciaten. Though their values are different, they both want to unseat House Flaigre, which puts them on the same side.

Estivi

Renowned for its advanced craftmanship.
Ruled by the House of Luveris.

House Luveris worships Elya above all else.
They approve of House Flaigre for the most part, but think that they could be a bit pushier about spreading Elya’s word, while still not resorting to violence.
There are a few who feel more strongly about this and believe that House Flaigre is weak for not being stronger about pushing Elya’s word, but most approve of House Flaigre.
They will prioritize the word of Elya above Glecean law if necessary, though as current laws align with Elya’s word, it hasn’t been an issue for a while.
House Luveris sends Attenia aid when she is fleeing House Flaigre, as she is following the word of Elya and they approve, though they do so in secret so as not to cause a political disruption.
They are allied with House Aminor through marriage – Duke Benica Aminor is married to Cilla Luveris (now Duchess Aminor) – and through shared faith in Elya.
They are rivals with House Exentum because of a disagreement between the Temple of Elya in Estivi and the Temple of Elya in Crerita.
Both Temples wanted Dosum Tusunu as their High Priestess, as she is a very powerful mage and healer.
She chose to go with House Luveris, and there is ill feeling between House Luveris and House Exentum because of it.
House Luveris has no quarrel with House Temenia, but Temenia insists on being rivals with them because of the broken engagement between Invica Temenia and Tiasu Luveris.
House Luveris has successfully extended the gem mine in Orlita to Estivi through tunnels in the mountain (the gems extend though the mountains of both provinces).

Orlita

Renowned for its mastery of law.
Ruled by the House of Litarum.

House Orlita believes that Glecea should use its military to right the wrongs of the world, bringing the word of Elya to the masses for their benefit.
They approve of most of House Flaigre’s policies, but hope to convince Attenia or Altenia to their way of thinking in terms of military when one of them takes up the mantle of rule.
Duke Bonei Litarum has sent his son Fiverun to court both Attenia and Altenia, neither of whom return his affections, but they were both kind to him and the three of them maintain a friendly acquaintance.

Fisatem

Renowned for its advanced knowledge of the healing arts.
Ruled by the House of Temenia.

After they were ousted from power, House Temenia retreated to Fisatem to focus on the healing arts, as they believe this is the best way to live by Elya’s ideals.
For the most part, they are content as long as Glecea is in good hands, though there are those who are still bitter about the old defeat and long to be the ruling family once more.
However, they would never break the law to do so, and House Flaigre has done nothing to warrant a call for replacement; such a call would be shut down by the courts as things stand now.
So, House Temenia works on upholding the law by making sure that all who enter Glecea are healed of their ills and waits to see how things will unfold.
Attenia has successfully built a friendship with Invica Temenia, daughter of Duchess Frisidi Temenia. They connect with their love of animals.
House Teminia is allied with House Orfide because of their shared view of strictly following the laws of Glecea.
They are rivals with House Luveris because of a broken engagement.
The son of Duke Torum Luveris (Tiasu Luveris), on his father’s instruction, broke off an engagement with Invica Temenia favour of a better match with Aspare Orfide, eldest daughter of Duchess Rogail Orfide.
She’s a better match due to her connection to the royal family, as well as being a stronger follower of Elya, but House Temenia never forgave House Luveris for the broken engagement.
After the broken engagement, Attenia helped set up some suitors for Invica, who is now being courted by Nufili Aminor, son of Duke Benica Aminor.

Ceplera

Renowned for its scholars and libraries.
Ruled by the House of Sciaten.

House Sciaten seeks knowledge and power above all else.
They believe that Glecea should use its military to gain knowledge and power in the world, and use it to benefit the Glecaen people and spread the world of Elya.
They tolerate House Flaigre because Glecea is flourishing under their rule, but House Sciaten is not entirely happy with the way things are run.
They hope that in the future, there might be a chance to unseat House Flaigre.
Altenia is working on befriending the young Duchess Inelor Sciaten, recently orphaned in a freak accident and thrust into the ruling title.
She hopes to gain Inelor’s favor by trading with the High Elves for knowledge and offering it to her.
House Sciaten has a disagreement with House Sagicae, as they believe that magic should be used to gain power, while House Sagicae is happy to study magic without using it to gain any kind of advantage.
There is some bitterness between them, because Duchess Trasu Sciaten was killed in an accident on a mission to speak with the leaders of House Sagicae about using magic for more military matters.
They are allied with House Ecrelu and House Exentum because of their shared hope for different rule.

Crerita

Renowned for its rolling hills of farmlands as far as the eye can see.
Ruled by the House of Exentum.

House Exentum believes in expanding Glecea until the kingdom spans the entire world, with all worshipping Elya and following the Glecean constitution.
They know House Flaigre will never be converted to this goal and ally strongly with House Sciaten, hoping for different rule one day.
They are known for trying to push the border between them and Vitare, so relations between them and House Aminor are tense.
Silas has gained some favour with them by allowing them to push back the forests a little to expand their territory, but they always want more.

Vitare

Home of the Glecean Parade Grounds and Military School.
Ruled by the House of Aminor.

House Aminor believes that Glecea’s true strength lies in its military.
The true purpose of the military is to defend and uplift the Hand of Elya and the citizens of Glecea, by upholding the constitution of Glecea.
They run outreach programs to get at-risk youth into the military and focus on training the military in a wide variety of skills that will come in useful helping the Glecean people.
They do not believe the military has a place outside of Glecea unless Gleeca is under invasion.
They cede absolutely to the Hand of Elya in all matters, as the word of Elya is just as important to them as the constitution of Glecea.
House Aminor is strongly allied with House Flaigre through shared ideology, as well as a close friendship between Silas Flaigre and Duke Benica Aminor, who were lovers before Silas married Abigail (things ended amicably).
If ever there came a time when the House of Flaigre deviated from the word of Elya, it would put Duke Aminor in a huge dilemma, as he wouldn’t want to be disloyal to Silas, but his faith would demand he put Elya first.
House Aminor is set against House Litarum because House Litarum has made an attempt on the life Ralor Rinex, grand general of the Glecean Army, hoping to have him replaced with someone who shared House Litarum’s views.
It was never proven that House Litarum was behind it, but House Aminor strongly suspects and there is some circumstantial evidence.
House Aminor has worked to extend the gold mine in Crerita to Vitare through tunnels (the gold extends through the mountains of both provinces).

Viria

The capital city of Glecea, that holds the land passage into the kingdom.
Ruled by the House of Flaigre.

The House of Flaigre is the ruling family in Glecea and has been for the past twelve generations (before that was House Temenia, but they were voted out and Glecea was voted in).
Their motto used to be loyalty and justice (two words like everyone else’s), but they changed it to loyalty, justice, victory when they won the election.
They believe strongly in the constitution and upholding it within Glecean borders.
They are devout followers of Elya and believe in spreading his word to all who are willing to hear it.
They are strong allies with House Aminor, House Luveris and House Orfide.
Though their goals are aligned with House Temenia, House Temenia has never quite forgiven House Flaigre for usurping them, even though it was done constitutionally, though they do their duty and serve the ruling house.
Their strongest opponents are house Sciaten and House Ecrelu.
Before Attenia left, there was talk of marrying Altenia off to Sivili, son of Duke Timatu Sciaten, thinking that giving them a measure of power will earn their loyalty and make them an ally of House Flaigre.
Now that Attenia has left, that plan has fallen apart, as it now falls on Altenia to rule, and as a future ruler, she needs to marry a constitutionalist to solidify current alliances.
House Flaigre has a good relationship with House Luveris through their shared faith in Elya.
